On Sunday 27th July 2008 the Woking Referees Society took on the Farnham & Guildford Referees Society in a pre-season friendly
for charity at Woking Football Clubs Kingfield Stadium. Thanks to the recommendation of our good friend Vince Penfold a fellow Woking Referee, the society decided to choose Georgie's Fund to be the beneficiary of the
proceeds of the day along with Guildford & Farnham's chosen charity Child Line.
It was a swelteringly hot day, the hottest day of the year so far, not ideal conditions for a football match. Never the less the two teams were raring to go and looking forward to
the match. The crowd turn out was excellent with a couple of hundred spectators there to support their teams. The match officials for the day were all current Football League officials and
they had travelled quite some way to officiate the match. The match was won by Woking 3 goals to 1 I'm glad to say it was played in good spirits with no cards shown to either side! It was a great day enjoyed by everyone
and it raised a lot of money for charity.

We would like to say a huge thanks to Corin Readett (above), Merill Readett, Steve Redrum and Ricky Green for organising such a fantastic day and for making us so very welcome.
They have raised a spectacular £2,784!
