Black Cherry fayre 2006

Fairy   Tooth Fairy Girlies    Tooth fairy

On the 8th July Chertsey held it's annual Black Cherry fayre. The lovely Holehouse family from Addlestone again this year decided to enter a float in honour of Georgie's Fund. The theme this year was 'Myths and Legends'. Zoe Holehouse decided that she would like to choose 'The Tooth Fairy' as their theme. The float was fantastic! Kirsty Holehouse was the Tooth fairy, she sat on her throne in the Tooth Castle, surrounded by giant tootbrushes, tubes of toothpaste and denatal floss!

Zoe and Kirsty   The children

Behind Kirsty was a procession of children that the Tooth Fairy touched with her wand and their teeth magically turned into pound coins! The children consisted of; Zoe Holehouse, Hannah and Becky Sherman, Bryony and Elyse Kennedy. They were all dressed in their jimmy jams and carrying their teddies. We also had the lovely Hannah and Lauren Snape who gave out around 600 Georgie's Fund Leaflets along the route of the procession which was fantasic! Along the way we were serenaded by the song you can hear playing, "You're a Pink Toothbrush, I'm a Blue Toothbrush" which played on a loop the whole route of the procession. If you would like to sing along to the music click HERE.

I was very privileged this year to join the procession and to shake my collecting bucket along the route with Carol (Kirsty and Zoe's Mum). Andy (Kirsty and Zoe's Dad) worked very hard building the float and drove the float on the day.

Judging   Winners

I am thrilled to report that they won the special award from the Chertsey Chamber of Commerce which was a tremendous honour and as a result received a cheque for £50 for Georgie's Fund. Together with the amount collected in the buckets they raised £112.87. I had a lovely day with them all and as well as the money raised they raised a lot of awareness along the way.

We would like to say a HUGE thank-you to all them all.
