The St. Pauls Players
On Friday 13th July 2007 we spent a delightful evening being entertained by the Chessington group of artists known as St Pauls Players.
Since 1983 the St Pauls Players have been writing and performing their shows twice yearly and have a cast with ages rangeing from around 8 to 80 years!
They put on the ever popular Panto and also run a show in June/July which is written by the cast members.
The group generously choose a different charity to donate the proceeds of their ticket sales to for each production and we feel honoured to have been chosen by them this year for their summer production.
The show was entitled ‘As Time Goes By’ and tells the story of a year through song.
Nina, Lynne and our good friend Nancy accompanied me along to the show.
Armed with wine and nibbles we were treated to a splendid evening of song and dance by the players as they whizzed through a typical year . From the cheesy new years eve through Valentine slush, mothers day and holidays to weddings, Halloween and of course back round to Christmas and New Year again.
There were some great songs and all will have held memories happy or sad for each and every one of us in the room.
The players all looked like they were having a great time and had worked really hard on putting the show together. So many songs to learn and costumes to change.
It shows too, how hard all the cast and crew worked to make the whole show run smoothly.
We are really grateful to the players for their fantastic donation to Georgies Fund
of £900.00.
Thank you all so much.
It really was a smashing evening and we hope to be back for the panto!
