RunLondon Nike's 10km Night Run
On the 28th November at 7pm Corinne Edwards and some friends will be taking part in 'RunLondon'
Nike's 10km night run. The race starts from Surrey Quays shopping centre and continues around the streets
of London. Corinne signed up for this last week as a spur of the moment thing and now has just seven weeks to prepare!
This will also be Corinne's 36th birthday! What a way to spend it!
The money Corinne raises will be donated to Georgie's Fund. Corinne has promised to update us with her progress so watch this space.
If you would like to sponsor Corinne and make her birthday even more special, click on one of the 'Donate' buttons on the left and make sure you mention her name in your donation
so that it can be added to her final total.
In the meantime Corinne good luck with your training. Rather you than me!
UPDATE 1st December 2004
Good News!! Corinne did it!
Here is an email Corinne sent to us today:
Hi ya,
Yep I DID IT!! I spoke to Tania yesterday and let her know that I was still alive to tell the tale!!! I can't really believe that I completed the 10km without stopping because my training (said in the loosest possible terms) only got me to 6km so where I found the further 4km goodness only knows? I hope to be able to collect just over £300 in sponsorship money in the next couple of weeks and I will arrange to drop it down to Tania.
In all serious I did really enjoy it and it was a great achievement to know that I had done it and hope that it will go some way to help you all with Georgies Fund. I will never forget my 36th birthday that's for sure!!??
If you go to RunLondon.com there are video clips of us coming in (it is not very clear) but my finishing details were as follows:
POSITION: 20443 (not bad out of 30,000 - only 9,517 behind me!!??)
5K TIME: 0H 36MIN 20SEC
10K TIME: 1H 12MIN 43SEC
Anyway I hope to see you soon and good luck with everything. If I do any more runs I will be in touch as my colleagues at work are already trying to get me into doing some more.... Watch this space!
Take care,
Corinne
