On Friday the 6th October Georgie's fund hosted the NSOC 5th Annual Golf Day, this year held for the first time at the picturesque West Hill Golf Club, Brookwood, Surrey. The fairways are lined with pine, birch and heather
and the course is listed in the top
100 Golf Clubs in the British Isles.
The day was a sell out we had a record 21 teams taking part, many of which you can see above. The only thing to let us down on the day was the weather! It absolutley poured down most of the day!
This didn't spoil the day though as the golfers all really enjoyed the course despite this.
Unfortunately due to the England V Macedonia game at Old Trafford on Saturday, our patron Richard Keys was unable to come along this year but
he did donate an England shirt signed by John Terry, which was fantastic! Thanks to our very generous sponsors we had some excellent auction and raffle prizes. We were thrilled to have Neuroblastoma Society patron Bobby Davro as our celebrity auctioneer again
this year. We are very grateful to him for fitting us into his busy schedule. He was brilliant! We are also grateful to Alistair Cooper (husband of Antonya Cooper the Neuroblastoma Society Chairperson) who said a few words in Antonya's absence. Antonya couldn't be present as she was awaiting the birth of her first grandchild.
All in all it was a really fantastic day, we are so grateful to all the sponsors who put in corporate teams, and those that supplied auction and raffle items and to all of the golfers that came along on the day and made it such a success.
Photo's from the day by Function Photography are available here (click on Event and Function Images on the right password neuroblastoma). We hope to see you all again next year!
We don't have an exact amount raised at present but it is in the region of £7,000. Which is absolutley fantastic!
