A message from Tania

"...Hi everyone,

I have had a very busy and productive day, with a surprise I gather some of you already knew about!

Emily came to see me today and her surprise was..... £461 raised from a mufti day at her brother Thomas's school on 14th December! What fabulous news, this brings Emily's total raised to about £1755 I think.

This called for some celebration and as Pete and I had purchased the Playstation 2 along with a Dance game and mat, Elf DVD, Inspector Gadget DVD Playstation games: Spyro Heroes, Simpsons, Pop Idol, Spiderman, Shrek 2, Crash Bandicoot, GTA (for the older ones of course) and a memory card for the mIBG suite at the Marsden (that was what they said they would like) I asked if Emily would like to go with me today and take it along. I also had the pleasure of Peri and Abbie's company on our journey. We stopped on route to purchase a 14" tv/dvd and also popped in to see Maria (our Treasurer) to pay in Emily's money at the bank and then off we all went to the Marsden.

They were a little surprised to see us today as I had only spoken to them about it this morning, but I felt the time was right and as I had all the girls together it was probably the best opportunity I had.

I did take along my camera and our favourite nurse, Aileen, had her photo taken with all the girls and pressies. This is a major coup, as Aileen does not do photo's, apart from for us. She has been the most wonderful nurse to us over the last 5 years and holds a very special place in our hearts, as I know George does with her.

It was then off to McDonalds for the girls tea, if they had their way it would have been a sleep over too!

It was an exhausting but very satisfactory day. Needless to say, the hospital are very happy with the donation. It is very appropriate as the equipment will be used in the room where Georgie spent time and other children undergoing the mIBG therapy will have to stay. The next patient due in there will be early in the new year so they have plenty of time to have it installed and set up for then.

Thanks for helping to make this possible.

Speak to you all soon.

lots of love

Emily's Day At The Marsden

"...I had a great time at the Royal Marsden! We all carried the presents in, we had one each. I thought the marsden was lovely. It was so clean and so big. I know that the people who worked there loved the presents and I know they have gone to a good cause.

I saw lots of nurses including Aileen. Tania said that she was George's favourite nurse and I thought she was lovely too, as were the other nurses. I'm so glad I have raised this money for Georgie's Fund. I especially wanted to raise it for the Marsden because I know that Georgie went there and that there will be children who are going to go into that special room soon. The children will like playing on the PS2 and watching DVD's.

Thanks Tania for a lovely day and I hope the children and nurses appreciate the gifts!

Love

Emily..."
