Events and Promotions

Hi, I'm Lynne, Mum to Trustees Tania and Nina, Nana to Jack and his brother Georgie.

I have worked in the marketing business for over 20 years and am a Company Director managing a team of women throughout the UK who specialise in marketing baby products to expectant and new mothers.

George was first diagnosed in 1999 and I was made aware of not only his suffering but also that of other children with the illness. Feeling totally helpless but with the encouragement of a friend I tried to remain positive and useful by organising a few fundraising events for the Royal Marsden Children's Unit, Sargents Cancer Care for Children and the Neuroblastoma Society.

When George went into remission I became a Trustee of the Neuroblastoma Society, believing that had the Society never been formed research into a cure for this dreadful disease would never have reached the stage it had. There is no government funded research into neuroblastoma largely due to the disease being rare. I wanted to repay the Society for their support to the family. My position is Promotion of the Society and for the last 7 years, apart from other Society duties, have raised an awareness by events such as; a Society Member's Family Fun Day at Thorpe Park, giving fund raising talks to interested, influential groups and approaching celebrities to seek a Patron. A Charity Golf Day was also introduced and this is now a successful annual event with Georgie's Fund Trustees playing a huge part in the organisation.

When Georgie lost his battle in 2004 I was eternally grateful to friends for supporting and encouraging the family to form Georgie's Fund. We sadly do not have our brave little knight, but he will live on in our fund raising for neuroblastoma. It was natural for me to continue in the role of promotion and with support from the other Trustees we are all committed to funding research into an eventual cure for this dreadful disease. What a wonderful day that will be.

If you would like to help in any way with the mission of Georgie's Fund please contact us, we would love to hear from you, however small that help may be.
