Helpful Hands Winner

We are so proud to announce that Tania has won this years national 'Fairy Helpful Hands Award'.

Can I start by saying that although Tania knows and is very proud to have won this prestigious award she does not know that I am putting up this page telling you all about her, and she will hate it. Tania is very modest and not one to blow her own trumpet so I am going to!

As you know Tania is our chairperson and started up GF after losing her youngest son George to neuroblastoma 4 years ago. As well as helping to raise over £100,000 for the charity to date, Tania also helps out at weekends with helping disabled children to go horse riding. Tania also gives respite to the parents of severely disabled children so their parents can have some time out. Until recently she was a special needs assistant at our local infant school and even started up a gardening club for the children as gardening is her passion.

Winner

Tania loves all children and always thinks of others before herself, she attends so many local events for GF and answers many emails from worried parents.

Tania has become very close to some of the parents we have come into contact with and has personally visited some of them and has been a great source of comfort. She even finds time to support other charities relating to childhood cancer. On top of this Tania works fulltime.

You can read more about Tania's award in this weeks Woman magazine.

I know like all of us at GF Tania's family and close friends will think that Tania is a very worthy winner of this award and we are so very proud of her! All that is left to say is thank-you so much to all the people at Fairy and to the wonderful judges on the Helpful Hands panel: celebrity mum Gail Porter, Heart 106.2 Breakfast Presenter Harriet Scott and Woman editor Jackie Hatton for recognising just what a special person Tania is.
