A unique website charting a two-year-old's battle with a rare form of cancer was inspired by an Elmbridge charity.
Samantha Hughes, from Derbyshire, was diagnosed in October with rare childhood cancer stage IV Neuroblastoma. Since then an online diary chronicling
her treatment has appeared on
www.samanthahughes.info.
The diary written by Samantha's father, Neil Hughes, from Samantha's perspective.
One entry reads: "Round eight of my chemotherapy hit me hard. I've been poorly and a little upset. I also have dark circles around my eyes and not looking my best."
But the website was inspired by Addlestone charity Georgie's Fund, which was set up in memory of George Hayhoe who lost his battle against Neuroblastoma in January 2004 aged just eight.
