Past Fundraising Football Fever |
Molesey Junior's
A report by Tania "..I was invited to attend the presentation evening at Molesey Juniors on 9th June by Sean Byrne who is manager of the under 10 boys
team. They have been fundraising over the past season for Georgies Fund by being sponsored to score goals. The under 12’s girls team were also taking part in the sponsored event.
Sean’s children, Kieran and Danielle are both members of these teams. It was a very busy night with medals and trophies being presented to all the teams. Sean had also asked that I would receive the money raised by the children and to present the top fundraisers with a medal. I was delighted to be asked to be a part of the evening. Sean had not told me the amount of the money raised. He just said it wasn’t a huge amount. After I had presented medals to the top fundraisers, Sean presented me with £642.00! I do actually call that a huge amount! The children have worked really hard over the season and have all helped to raise not just money but awareness of neuroblastoma and Georgies Fund. The connection with football and Georgie is so special and the fact that money has been raised for his charity by children doing something he loved is very special. On behalf of us all, I would like to thank Sean and his family, the families and friends of all the children who took part and also a special thank you to Sophie for making me feel so welcome and for taking the special photo! A special mention to our fundraisers, Robert Litchfield who raised an amazing £232, Jamie Linegar who was runner up, also Kieran Byrne, William Rickerby, Joe Palmer, George Gill, Adum Duncan, Sam Quick, Kyle Vallins. Jackson Pickersgill Danielle Byrne top, fundraiser for the girls, Jessica Cherry who came runner up, Danielle Billet, Nancy Roberts, Lucy Folgate and Amy Montague. Woking Puma's U16's are also continuing to support Georgie's Fund next season. We are extremley proud that they are wearing kits with our name across them! The kit has been sponsored by Sean Carey their manager along with Santon Capital PLC Knaphill Football Club
Continuing our footbal theme, we are thrilled to also be associated with Knaphill Football Club, Knaphill advertise us on the front page or their website and also have a huge banner for Georgie's Fund which is pitch side at all their home matches. We would like to congratulate the lads on becoming the Surrey Intermediate League Division One Champions this season! A fantstic achievement! Abbey Rangers
Abbey Rangers continue to support Georgie's Fund, come along and watch the Georgie's Fund Challenge Cup and see our stand at their tournament on the 15th and 16th July.
