Meet
Emily Fitzpatrick, Emily is just 11 years old and she has organised a whole WEEK of fundraising events for Georgie's Fund at her school for the week of 18th October!
Emily is in year 6 at
Holy Family Catholic School, Langley in Slough, Bershire. She has three brothers, Thomas aged 14, George aged 8 and Harry
aged 4.
Emily decided she wanted to raise money for Georgie's Fund after her Nan, who is a good friend of Georgie's family, had told her all about George. Since then Emily has been emailing Georgie's Mum Tania and they have become very
good friends. We recently went to meet Emily and were amazed by her enthusiasm and dedication! She has a whole folder full of information about Georgie's Fund and newsletters that she has created and given out to her classmates.
She is a very remarkable young lady! Emily told us that her favourite hobby is going shopping with her Mum and her favourite lesson is art because she gets to make good things and it's really fun. Emily has a very supportive family behind her and has
had a lot of help from her Mum Paula who has been working VERY hard too! The two of them have even persuaded her brother Thomas's School Churchmead to hold a
'Mufti Day' after half term to raise more funds for Georgie's Fund.
We would like to thank Emily's head teacher Mrs. O'Connor for allowing Emily to hold this fundraising event and also Mrs. Abercrombie who has helped Emily to plan the week. Emily would like to say a HUGE thank-you to all of the people that have donated items for the week. Without their help it would not have been possible!
BUT... the biggest thank-you has to go to Emily for coming up with this idea and her Mum Paula for helping her to arrange it. Below is the schedule for Emily's events for the week:
