Jessica Pillings a very talented local contemporary artist contacted us a few months ago with an idea to raise more funds for Georgie's Fund.
Jessica suggested that if we could find a venue she would work on a portfolio of paintings to exhibit with 40% of the profit of any sales going to Georgie's Fund. This was something completley different to
what we have been involved in before and we thought it was a fabulous idea!
Amazingly a few weeks later an Art Gallery opened up in Addlestone. It seemed like fate! We approached the owner,
Robert Mitchell to see if he could help out with a venue and he very kindly offered his Gallery to us free of charge!
Jessica worked very hard and painted around 50 pictures for the exhibition. Jessica's painting style was very varied, with many different sizes, styles, texture and media used. They were fascinating to look at. The paintings were displayed at the Mitchell Studio Gallery for the weekend of 25th - 27th November.
The exhibition was launched on the Friday evening with special invited guests attending. We were very honoured to have the local Mayor of Runnymede, Frances Barden, officially open the event.
The exhibition was a great success, Robert and his family made us very welcome at the Gallery, they were lovely people, we spent much of the weekend chatting away, and even learnt a thing or two about art! Darrell Mitchell, Robert's son and partner in the business,
is a talented artist himself and he donated to us one of his own paintings entitled 'A Cornish Cove' to auction to raise more funds!
Jessica sold quite a few paintings over the weekend and even had some commissions requested. So far she has raised over £650 for Georgie's Fund which is quite something!
We would like to thank Jessica for all her hard work, I know she had many sleepless nights leading up to the exhibition! Also we'd like to thank, Robert, Darrell and Vicky Mitchell for the loan of their gallery and the donated painting and for making us all so welcome.
