The Abbey Rangers tournament took place this year on the 15th and 16th July, it was a beautiful sunny hot weekend. For the second year running we were honoured to be invited along to raise awareness of Neuroblastoma and to present the trophy to the winners of
The Georgie's Fund U6 Challenge Cup. Before the match took place the teams, Abbey Rangers and Woking Cougars, posed for photo's with their managers and our Tania. DE Photos kindly supplied us with the above photo.
The match was very exciting with some excellent football from these little fellows, many of them only 5 years old! It was funny to watch them mimic the professionals with the first goal scorer even pulling his shirt over his head and running round the pitch when he scored! We did laugh. The match was
won by Woking Cougars with a score of 3-0. Well done Cougars! After the match we went over to the stage area where Tania presented all 21 boys with a medal, certificate and goodie bag. For more photos from the day click HERE.
We had a great weekend at Abbey Rangers. We had a stall with our wristbands and badges on sale and a display board with information about the disease. We were given a large football table by Jessie Curwin's family which we were able to raffle, a big thank-you to them. The football table was won by John in the clubhouse which we were thrilled about!
A HUGE thank-you also to Jason Lockwood (Chairman) and Graham Keable (Club Secretary) for making us so welcome and for their continued support. Also thanks to Rob for organising such a huge tournament and to all the helpers and parents that helped to make it so successful. We can't wait till next year...
