Abbey Rangers Football Club was established in 1976 as a boy's football club based in Chertsey. They are now the largest club in the area with over 340 registered players, male and female, running league
teams from U5's upward to adults.
The Abbey Rangers football centre represents many years of hard work by club members with the support of Runnymede Borough Council. The club has now gained FA chartership.
Georgie's Fund was thrilled to be asked to attend the Abbey Rangers July tournament at the week-end along with CLIC Sargent as the clubs chosen charities for the tournament.
The trustees of Georgie's Fund have a long personal affiliation with the club as 6 of our sons play or have played for Abbey Rangers over the last 10 years including our Georgie.

George and his Abbey Rangers Team
Abbey Rangers told us that they were intending to name the Under 6's Challenge Match the Georgie's Fund Under 6's Challenge Match and that it would be an annual event! What an honour. I can not tell you how much it means to us.
We were asked to present the teams with their medals and the trophy to the winner, which Tania did, it was an emotional event. You can see some pictures of the match HERE.
We took along our badges and wristbands to the tournament which were very popular, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to 'spread the word' and we met many people some that knew of us and some that didn't. We are really grateful to Jason Lockwood the new Abbey Rangers Chairman
and also to Nigel and Sue the tournament organisers for making us so welcome and inviting us to come along.
Thanks also to Paul and George who were the goalies that were manning the goals for the 'Kick 4 CLIC' stand. They manned the event free of charge for two whole days!
